Rachel Hamstra has been a student of the Feldenkrais Method® for over 20 years, and has developed a deep personal connection with the work she teaches. As a student, she underwent hip surgery in infancy through adolescence, which was followed by a years-long rehabilitation process using the Feldenkrais Method. Her work with her practitioners and in her training has allowed her to explore all sorts of physical activities she never imagined possible, such as dancing, hiking, and horseback riding.

Whether in a class or in her private practice, getting her students involved in their own well-being and creating a space where discovery can happen together are enormously important to Rachel. She teaches in a trauma-informed manner, and it is her honor and responsibility to create a space where students feel safe to explore. She is thrilled to have the opportunity to come full circle as a practitioner and share what she has learned, and continues to learn. She finds joy in helping others find the same sense of curiosity, hope, ease, and confidence that her practitioners gave her.

Rachel runs a private practice in Lake City where she offers hands-on private Feldenkrais and Craniosacral Therapy sessions. She is a graduate of the Seattle Eastside Feldenkrais Training 2012, and is a member of Feldenkrais Teachers in Seattle.

Gail has been my teacher for about a year. I love her Gentle Class and her breadth and depth of knowledge. She is focused on making sure everyone can do the work to the best that they are able. She teaches with humor, empathy and compassion. If I miss her class one week, my body and spirit feel it. She is a gifted and knowledgeable teacher, and I love her sense of humor!
