Through Seva, Two Dog Connects with Neighbors

Seva: Selfless service

Ram Dass Explains this beautifully: "Helping out is not some special skill. It is not the domain of rare individuals. It is not confined to a single part of our lives. We simply heed the call that natural impulse within and follow it where it leads us".

'Two Dog Connects’ is our way of giving back to the community.

In this Earth Day class there were yogi neighbors from
Sweden, Morocco, Mexico, Poland, HondurasPeru,
Russia, Pakistan, Japan, China, France and USA
!

For 8 years we have offered free yoga classes in our Lake City neighborhood.

Today our program has grown to 5 instructors and 6 assistants who help us offer 3 free chair yoga classes to over 40 neighbors each week at the Lake City Community Center, and Lake City House.

We connect with our hearts, we move gently in our bodies and we all feel happier when we step into our day.

THANK YOU to our dedicated teachers: Carol Sanders, Frances Rice, Lydia Marshall and Linda Robinson.
THANK YOU to our awesome assistants: Amy Brieger, Gulnara Kiefer, Tatsue Monji, Nancy Place, Suzanne Denby and Susanne Gaston.

Would you like to join us, see what it is is like? Come to the Lake City Community Center Mondays at 10:45am, ask at the front desk,' where is the yoga class?'

And join us in this super sweet heartwarming 45 minute class. Contact Annie for more info

Lovin' Lake City

Annie Stocker, Two Dog studio owner, has lived in Lake City since 1986 and feels a warm kinship with the ever-emerging neighborhood. Two Dog students bump into each other at local restaurants, the Lake City Farmers Market, the local hardware store, post office, parks and restaurants. More and more people now make Lake City their permanent home in which to grow their families and friendships. Two Dog is proud to be a part of the growth of this healthy, thriving community. Come explore!

Two qualities of life that we sometimes give low priority to are surrounding ourselves with beauty and developing community. These are being practiced at Two Dog Yoga studio. The gorgeous unfolding lotus mural secures the room where yoga, singing, dancing, eating, talking and more are offered with open arms to the Lake City neighborhood.
— Cynthia Lair, author of Feeding the Whole Family

Two Dog Yoga is a compassionate, supportive and nonjudgmental community of teachers and students which has benefitted me in ways I did not expect. I have been able to apply these experiences when I am off the mat to enhance my life as well as help me cope with everything from day-to-day stresses to more difficult times of loss and grief.
