“PAUSE – PRACTICE – PLAY – PRANAM”
Yoga in Yelapa with Annie and Wendy
February 9 - 16, 2019
Registration now open!
Join Annie and Wendy for a winter retreat to the tranquil village of Yelapa, Mexico. Just a 45 minute boat ride south of Puerto Vallarta, Yelapa is nestled around a pristine bay, surrounded by sandy beaches and lush tropical mountains – a complete departure from the hectic pace of a typical Mexican tourist town. This week long retreat will provide you with the opportunity to connect to the earth, to the sea, to nature’s rhythms, to the village community, and to yourself.
We will begin each day with sunrise meditation and pranayama in the extraordinary Sky Temple – an open air, hillside studio - with expansive, soul soothing vistas of Yelapa Bay and the jungle below. Throughout the week we will deepen our practice with dynamic morning asana sessions and restorative afternoon sessions. There will also be ample time to nap in a hammock, lounge on the beach, and to wander the charming, car-free streets of the village. Additional adventures and opportunities to explore the area will also be available.
Accommodations are exclusively at "Casas Garcias" - 1 and 2 bedroom apartments perched above the beach, offering an open air living space with fully equiped kitchen. From your patio/hammock you can enjoy watching the daily comings and goings of local fishermen, pelicans and ocean surf. It is a ten minute, half mile walk UP to the Sky Temple where we practice yoga each day. Walking is a significant part of this village retreat.
Fresh, locally inspired meals will be communally served in a variety of settings. Most evenings we will venture out into the village to explore and enjoy the hospitality of local restaurants and cafes.
This is a unique opportunity to experience a week of yoga, co-created by two seasoned yoga instructors. Together Annie and Wendy offer a yoga practice which embodies alignment, reflection on the self and celebration of the heart.
Three months of yoga instruction and the ability to walk the uneven and steep paths of a rustic village required.
