Alyssa Pizarro
Alyssa Pizarro does not believe in movement outcomes but instead in movement discovery. When beginning her yoga teaching career, she was diagnosed with a chronic illness that has changed her practice, and life. Instead of allowing this to define her yoga journey, it informs her curiosity about bodies, movement, and strength. Alyssa’s class style invites awareness into her gentle vinyasas as well as reflection and celebration of all the different ways we move and breathe.
Motivated by service-based yoga offerings, Alyssa received her 200hr certification with the Africa Yoga Project in Kenya. She has also been certified by Yoga Behind Bars and Street Yoga in trauma-informed principles, and with Yoga Moves MS. Alyssa has taught in youth homeless centers, chair yoga in adult care facilities, and has led modules about Seva and Yoga in several YTTs in Seattle.
Alyssa is a certified Level 2 Reiki practitioner and an energy worker, a certified Death Doula, as well as a full-time staff member of the WA nonprofit, Business Impact NW. Since Alyssa loves all types of movement, in addition to her personal yoga practice, she jogs regularly, and for fun, reads, and spends quality time laughing with her partner.
