An Evening of Sacred Chanting
with Shantala and Gina Sala
Special Benefit Kirtan Fundraiser
for Michael Hahn and Elizabeth Rainey
Sunday, September 23 | 7:00pm

The practice of kirtan is infused with love. It is a powerful doorway into the lifelong practice of transforming ourselves into loving human beings, brings us into greater union with the Beloved that dwells inside us and beyond. In a very unique and personal way, we have the possibility through chanting to touch the deepest, most tender parts of being human and the sacred pulse of the Universe.

Michael and Rainey have been together for 17 years. For 19 years, they have worked as healers in the Seattle community.  Michael is a passionate and gifted hands-on therapist working with newborns and adults and Rainey is an advanced yoga therapist working in class and private settings while also going to school for somatic psychology.  Last October, Michael had a medical procedure meant to help with chronic low back pain. Unfortunately, the following day his body began to have significant and mysterious neurological symptoms which in turn lead to a high level of anxiety.  As a result, Michael has not been able to work since December and they have spent their entire savings meeting their medical costs and monthly bills.  Thank you for your support!

Shantala: Benjy and Heather Wertheimer have been leading kirtan (sacred chanting) worldwide since 2001 as Shantala. They are known for their special gift of bringing the audience into a vast and loving experience through their unique blend of exquisite voices with instruments of India and the West. Together they create music with beauty, passion, and reverence.

Gina Salā is a vocalist, composer, teacher and chant leader with a repetoire spanning 23 languages. Her performance credits include the UN, Cirque du Soleil and international festivals. With humor and devotion, Gina shares her passion for singing us awake to who we are!

100% of proceeds will go directly to our friends, Michael and Rainey, who have given SO much to our community.
