Rainey

Rainey believes in the wisdom of the body. Over the years I have learned to listen to my body with reverence and respect for it knows things deeper and wider than my reasoning brain. You can learn to listen to your body too. I believe that we can deepen our presence in the world and in our lives if we hone this capacity for tending the wisdom of our body. I know from my own years of absence that when we show up in and as our body, we are more capable and wise in every sense. I believe we can heal our wounds of body, mind and heart with compassion and presence and a fierce softness.

Rosa Vissers

Rosa Vissers' belief in the intelligence of our bodies guides her teaching. Her classes are an invitation to slow down so we can listen, feel, and connect with the wisdom that lives in our cells. With an emphasis on inclusive movement, Rosa's approach to yoga is inspired by her lifelong study and practice of contemporary dance and somatics. She aims to offer a deeply nourishing and supportive class, filled with warmth, curiosity, and creativity.

Kathryn Bouchard

A native of New Jersey, Kathryn made her home in Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Maine and Seattle before settling in Bend, OR in 2023. She took her first yoga class in 1999 and was surprised by how challenging it was (aren’t we just stretching?) … and how much better (and taller!) she felt both inside and out. She was hooked. It wasn’t until she arrived at Seattle Yoga Arts in 2013, however, that she found her true yoga home and answered her heart's calling to become an instructor. She completed her 500-hour teacher training at SYA under the tutelage of Denise Benitez, Elizabeth Rainey, Amy Reed Aarabi and Ellie Rose among others. Kathryn joined both SYA’s teaching staff and management team in 2015, leaving only when the studio closed in 2022.

Gabby Roffey

Gabby, originally from West Michigan, has called Seattle home for nearly 20 years. Her career has centered around education, but her first yoga class sparked a passion that has only grown over time—so much so that she now teaches yoga. Gabby completed her yoga teacher certification through SYA in 2014, believes in yoga’s power to connect body, mind, and spirit and is dedicated to sharing its benefits with everyone she meets. Her teaching philosophy is rooted in cura personalis, a Jesuit principle of caring for the whole person. This principle shapes her approach both in the classroom and on the mat. Gabby’s yoga practice has deepened not only her own sense of well-being but also her ability to teach in meaningful, practical ways.
